Concepts Evaluation

I wanted my concepts of my designer profile or Norman Strange to be simple yet effective. I also wanted to make these designs easy to create using programs ‘Photoshop’ and ‘InDesign’. If these designs were complicated, then I would have to research a lot on the techniques used to create these effects. Since I was lazy, I didn’t bother to do that.

I sketched out 4 concepts which were all based on an A4 landscaped page. I tried to keep the theme to these designs to an extent where they would link up with the hobbies and characteristics that Norman had.

Concept 2 and 3 followed that theme whilst concept 1 and 4 just had graphic effects added to them.

I chose to build upon concept 3 as it gave a more serious theme of journalism which Norman is quite interested in as a career. The idea in concept 3 was a view of a table with scattered magazines and tabletop equipment. I was then to include a small section of interview questions of Norman, as well as a photograph on one of these items on the table. This gave the effect of Norman being famous in the newspaper and links up to the whole idea of journalism.

From this, I took this concept onto Photoshop modifying things as I went along to produce my final design of my designer profile of Norman Strange.
